IJCCR welcomes new editors

05.11.2026

Dear Readers and Contributors of the International Journal of Community Currency Research (IJCCR),

After a slightly longer break, during which we’ve also been working on developing the journal further, we now have some good news.

## New Editors

We are delighted to welcome two new, young editors from two different parts of the world and look forward to working with:

Paula Duarte

Paula Duarte

Paula Duarte holds a PhD in Law and Regulation from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV Direito Rio) and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at FGV São Paulo. She is also an associate member of the Institute for International Political Economy (IPE) at HWR Berlin. Her research focuses on financial inclusion, gender, community currencies, and digital payments. She was also one of the main organizers of the RAMICS 2026 conference in Rio de Janeiro.

Kenta Otani

Kenta Otani

Kenta Otani from Japan is an independent researcher affiliated with the the Senshu University Digital Community Currency Consortium Laboratory (Good Money Lab) focused on circular economy transition and local food economy development. He was already working as a reviewer for IJCCR in the past year.

In this context, we must also announce that our long-standing editor, Jérôme Blanc, is stepping down from his role as editor as he has taken up the post of Dean of Research at Sciences Po Lyon (our congratulations to him) and has consequently had to reorganise his schedule. We would like to express our sincere thanks for his many years of service and his dedication to this journal in all respects. Jérôme will, however, remain with us as a member of the RAMICS board.

Also we have to say goodbye to Luca Giachi who was responsible for the conference as well as for the special issue Rome, which were both a great success. Thank you very much Luca.

## Funding

We are also delighted to have been awarded a generous grant from the Diamond Open Access Fund at Erasmus University Rotterdam, which will now enable us, for example, to improve aspects such as the journal’s inclusion in various databases and directories, or its layout.

with best wishes and greetings

Jens Martignoni, Editor-in-chief
